17/12/23 - updated with the opening date
The new dining options at Battersea Power Station just keep coming, with the arrival of tashas restaurant. If you’ve not been in South Africa or the UAE recently (where tashas have 15 and six restaurants, respectively), you’re likely unaware of the dining concept founded in Johannesburg in 2005. Priding itself on creating a unique, destination-inspired vibe at each of its outlets, tashas serves up unpretentious, soothing food in chic surroundings.
The Battersea Power Station site will feature a large outdoor terrace where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in a space designed to emulate the original tashas location in Atholl, Johannesburg, with interiors displaying pieces from contemporary South African artisans and designers.
All tashas venues carry the Classic Menu (which changes once a year) as well as a more location-friendly Inspired By Menu.
Tuck into the likes of:
- House Salad - a selection of fresh vegetables, watermelon radish and feta
- Sweet Toast, with homemade almond paste, apricot jam and spiced syrup-soaked brioche
- Dr Paw Paw (paw paw slices with yoghurt, chopped almonds and honey)
- Cornflake Pork Schnitzel – pork loin, coated in cornflakes served with potato salad and a fresh slaw.
As for drinks, they'll include a Fynbos G&T - their twist which is inspired by amber-coloured South African gin from the Inverroche Distillery.
