The Drunken Butler to open wine bar Emmanuelle in Clerkenwell

The Drunken Butler to open wine bar Emannuelle in Clerkenwell

They've quietly been getting a strong following in Clerkenwell and now The Drunken Butler (now renamed Tehran-Berlin) are getting ready to open a wine bar opposite their restaurant.

Announced by owner Yuma Hashemi (who once had something of a run-in with restaurant critic Fay Maschler), it is indeed named after the star of the 1970s "erotic" films and also takes its name from a big rattan chair in the former Drunken Butler that just happened to be in one of those movies.

Little is known about the offering just yet, but they're promising "an extensive list of bottles from small-scale producers from across the world and encourage conversation around wine - from new and old world wines, natural and biodynamic".

We'll bring you more news about the bar closer to the opening.
