We'll admit to being a little thrown by the idea of Archway opening in Battersea with the two locations seemingly on opposite sides of town - but it turns out that this Archway is actually a new Battersea restaurant.
So-called because it's under a railway arch in Battersea, Archway is the first restaurant and wine bar from catering folk Spook London, run by Emily Few Brown. She's brought in ex-River Cafe chef Alex Owens to take care of the menu and it's already sounding pretty good, with dishes including:
- Pappardelle with radicchio and scamorza
- Wood roast scarlet prawns with nduja
- Deep-fried quail with celery, capers and aioli.
- Chocolate mousse with malted milk ice cream
- Beignets with spiced plum and creme fraiche
Alongside that is a wine list that covers new and old-world wines and they say they'll be "exploring different styles, methods, regions and producers." It all sounds very promising and another good addition to a transforming Battersea.
