It must be nearly Christmas as StreetSmart’s annual campaign has just kicked off across the UK, bringing nearly 550 restaurants together to raise money for people suffering homelessness, with a simple £1 on the bill during November and December.
Barrafina, Ottolenghi, St John, as well as the restaurants within Harvey Nichols, Selfridges along with the D&D London, JKS and MEATliquor restaurant groups have raised their hands once again to support. Joining them for the first time this year are restaurants Endo at Rotunda, Manteca, Amethyst, Cavita and Caravel as well as the expanding Cubitt House Group of pubs.
On top of the usual fundraising, The Booking Office and Burger & Lobster will be offering a special StreetSmart burger with a £1 for every burger sold. Order a cup of mulled wine at Crispin and Bar Crispin will donate £2 for the London Homeless and a special StreetSmart cocktail has been created at Dickie's Bar at Corrigan’s Mayfair.
This year's campaign takes place against the backdrop of spiralling costs, affecting every business. Over 50 homelessness charities benefit each year from funds raised with support for services like the creation of beds, housing, mental health support and training and job support.
