We have a hot new spot to cool your heels if you’re waiting for a train at Euston Station, and if you’re a fan of agave-based cocktails and Mexican food you might want to put MXO on your itinerary.
Open breakfast to late night, MXO on Euston Square is an all-day restaurant that also incorporates an agave bar (with wines from Mexico and South America for the agave ambivalent).
Head Chef Santiago Gomez Marrero is taking care of the food side of things and brings significant experience, having worked at Notting Hill’s Peyotito Mexican restaurant and acclaimed Pujol in Mexico City under celebrity chef Eduardo ‘Lalo’ García.
There’ll be a 50-seater restaurant along with two private dining spaces (hosting up to 10/12 people) and you can expect familiar favourites and twists on the classics, such as:
- Baja-style fish taco with mixed slaw and poblano chilli sauce
- King prawn tostada with avocado and smoked mayo
- 24-hour marinated poussin al pastor with pickled pineapple
- Lamb shank Barbacoa with roast potatoes
- Slow-cooked beef brisket en adobo with chimichurri.
If you’re texting your friends to say you’ve missed your train because you’re enjoying Huevos Rancheros with a Scorpion’s Sting (tequila reposado, aperol, crème de cassis, egg white, lime and agave), we salute you.
