Down on the banks of the Thames at Richmond, a new riverside spot has opened which looks like it's going to be a hit with locals. Peggy Jean is the latest launch from the Daisy Green Collection who have totally transformed the old Jesus College Boat Race Barge into a restaurant.
Inside, there's a large airy dining room and outside on the pontoon, there's space for loads of alfresco wineing and dining, with some rather fetching pink parasols and banquettes to make it stand out.
As with any of the Daisy Green places, brunch will be a big thing and they're promising bottomless brunches at the weekends.
On the dinner menu, the main focus will be pizzas, served fresh from their twin bespoke Gozney woodfired pizza ovens with options including:
- Hot Sausage with cold fermented jalapeno hot sauce
- Vegemite and Cheese
- The Aussie - cured leg ham, tomatoes, BBQ pineapple, London mozzarella, Clarence Court egg and pink pickled onions.
But they'll also be serving up BBQ steaks from HG Walters and day boat fish too.
This isn't their first riverside rodeo - the group already run two barge restaurants over at Paddington, so you can expect this Richmond location to hit the ground running.
