Promising a dusting of spices that "are not for the faint hearted" new fried chicken joint Bird and Tie has just launched in Clapham. The folk behind it say they were inspired by trips to the Deep South to visit family to create this homage to Nashville fried chicken back at home in London.
On the menu you'll find a range of chicken sandwiches and wings - the choice is southern, mild, Nashville Hot and, for the serious heat lover, Poultrygeist which features a touch of ghost chilli in it. That's the chilli that was once certified by the Guinness Book of Records as being the hottest in the world.
It also sounds like they're after the brunch market with a breakfast burger on offer, in a potato bun, along with chicken and pancakes and Nashville eggs which are served on Texan toast.
Sticking with the Southern theme, the drinks offering would go down a treat in any of America's dry counties. Their range of mojitos and frozen daiquiris are all alcohol-free.
