Lucky old Walthamstow is the proud owner of a rather lovely new place to get baked goods from. Beaten by a Whisker is an artisan small-batch bakery which opened its doors just a few weeks back.
The bakery is the culmination of a dream by baker Laura Almond who started out selling cakes from an honesty box in her driveway. From there she began supplying local cafes before opening this place just behind St James Street station.
The cafe serves coffee made from London roasters, Curious Roo and as an 'incidentally vegan' cafe all coffees are made with plant-based milks.
Cakes include baked cheesecakes, cookies, cinnamon buns and croissants and, if you work locally, your office will 100% appreciate you turning up with one of the bakery's brownie boxes for 10.
