If you prefer your morning coffee to come with a side order of goodwill, then a new cafe opening in Angel next week sounds like just the place for you.
TRAMPOLINE is a new social enterprise cafe by Founder Pranav Chopra on Camden Passage which is all about helping refugees to the UK enter the workforce. How they do that is by working with Groundwork London and Hotel School a hospitality training programme which works at giving refugees new skills.
Of course, this is all lovely and nice but if the coffee isn't any good then the enterprise fails. So it's good to know that coffee expert Antonio Orria (pictured here with Pranav) is in charge of the drinks here. Orria, who was most recently Head of Coffee at The Gentlemen Baristas, has been busy selecting coffee from the likes of Redemption Roasters and other guest roasters.
Head chef Nafar works with the cafe's workers to encourage them to share recipes and ingredients from their background. So you'll find an Iraqi-inspired date syrup yogurt bowl, Ethiopian lentil soup and Colombian pan de bono (cheese dough balls) on the menu, alongside a range of cakes.
