Cantinetta Antinori comes to London with Florentine T-bones and fine wines

Cantinetta Antinori opening in London

The Antinori family are arguably the most famous name in Italian wines, so it's fair to expect that their upcoming London restaurant will have a pretty decent wine list. Cantinetta Antinori will be an interesting team-up in Knightsbridge between the Italian winemakers and the Monaco family - the Giraudis - who opened Le Petit Beefbar in London last year.

The restaurant, just off Sloane Street, will be the Antinori family's first in the UK (there are already branches in Monte Carlo and Moscow). In Florence, the restaurant's signature dishes include Pappardelle pasta with Tuscan meat ragout, Florentine T-bone steaks and zuppa Inglese.

In London, it'll take over a three-storey building next door to Gucci and Louis Vuitton and, we're told, there'll be "all-day traditional Tuscan dining, fine wines and live music, in an informal yet refined environment".

As Allegra Antinori explains: "We opened the first Cantinetta Antinori in Florence back in 1957, moved by the desire of having people experiencing a taste of typical Tuscan hospitality, with perfect pairings between our wines and the traditional cuisine...we are excited to begin our new story in London and welcome the community with our heartfelt Tuscan hospitality."
