Pelicana's Korean fried chicken is coming to Islington

Pelicana's Korean fried chicken is coming to Islington

7/4/22 - updated with opening date

Last year, Korean fried chicken giant Pelicana opened its first London store, in Hammersmith. Now they're heading across town, picking Islington for their second branch.

They're taking over a site that was last Jones & Sons spot in the Angel Central shopping centre. There will be a takeaway outlet on the ground floor (as you enter the centre from Upper Street, beside Accessorize) and the main restaurant will be upstairs.

Billed as "the original Korean fried chicken", Pelicana has thousands of stores across Asia, Australia and America. But all of them serve up the same menu of fried chicken with signature, sweet chilli, soy and volcano options.

Vegans will have their quorn vegan fillets and cauliflower wings to look forward to, plus there'll be burgers, rice boxes with kimchi, udon noodles and salads. Even their potato offering sounds extra - we badly need to try their fried potato puffs coated with sweet chilli sauce.
