Yes, London is gearing up for Christmas and Selfridges has two impressive-sounding food and drink spaces on the way for the festive season.
First up is the Selfridges Christmas Market, once again taking over the mews behind the store. There you'll find food and drink trucks, three bars, gift stalls and fairground rides (that will include a helter-skelter). There will even be a Christmas Concierge to help you through the present buying process (we could all do with that).
As for the street food - there's an impressive line-up, pulled together by Dominic Cools-Lartigue, the main behind The Tramshed Project. You'll find savoury and sweet waffles from Utter Waffle, gourmet burgers and chips by The Tramshed Project, pie and mash from My Pie, Filipino street food from Bong Bongs, freshly made doughnuts by Treats Club and cookies and nitrogen ice cream by Chin Chin.
But that - as they say - is not all. They're also teaming up with Cools-Lartigue again for The Great Feast, which will be taking over the Old Selfridges Hotel next door. That's being billed as a "multi-sensory immersive festival" and, once again, he's curated a very impressive line-up of chefs. That's split up as follows:
- The Counter of Joy - this is a 50m long kitchen & bar counter with rotating chefs that will include Andrew Wong, Jikoni's Ravinder Bhogal, Chantelle Nicholson from All’s Well, Oklava's Selin Kiazim, Chishuru's AdeJoké Bakare and ex-Connaught and Masterchef Professionals quarter-finalist Jason Howard. Expect menus of small plates from this lot.
- Wonky Dreams - Rich Woods (aka The Cocktail Guy) is behind an "eccentric collection of cocktails" alongside nitrogen ice cream from Chin Chin Labs.
- Joyride - This is described as "a 45-minute immersive experience where you will receive wireless headphones to explore the tastes, touch and smells of a luxury bento-box" made by food artist and anthropologist Caroline Hobkinson. There will also be a special menu by chef and restaurateur Andrew Clarke (The Tramshed Project).
And alongside all that, there's the Magic Garden Stage with live music and DJs.
