Panton Yokocho is a new ramen bar coming to the Japan Centre

Panton Yokocho is Japan Centre's new ramen bar

Late last year, the people behind Japan Centre opened Heddon Yokocho, their spin-off ramen bar on Heddon Street. It must have been a success because they already have another lined up. They're opening Panton Yokocho on, you guessed it, Panton Street - very near the flagship Japan Centre store.

As with the previous restaurant, this will be about the different types of ramen from across Japan, and they'll also be adding udon and soba dishes to the menu here.

On the menu will be:

  • Sapporo Miso, a miso-based chicken & pork broth ramen
  • Hakodate Shio - a salt and miso-based broth ramen
  • Vegan Napoli, a tomato-based ramen with grilled tomato & mushroom topped with basil and vegan cheese
  • The Yokocho, a soy-based chicken & pork broth ramen with slices of BBQ pork and topped with menma bamboo shoots, naruto fish cake, whole nitamago egg & nori seaweed.

They'll be keeping up the 1970s Tokyo vibe from the original, and it'll be a pretty big space, fitting in 120.
