With Lockdown 2 upon us, even more restaurant and cafes than before are carrying on with a delivery service. The Barbary (from the same people as The Palomar) is the latest, getting to ready to launch The Barbary Next Door.
As part of the at-home service, they're revamping everything to suit delivery - with food available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On the menu will be
- Mushroom and Goat’s Cheese Bourekas
- Aleppo Salmon Gravadlax
- Salads that include Beluga Lentils and Beetroot or Sesame, Kale and Portobello
- Cauliflower Jaffa
- Moroccan Chicken Tagine
- Ethiopian Berbere Fish Curry
- A whole aubergine topped with Chimichurri and Feta
- Potato Latkas served with sour cream.
Alongside those will be the Barbary breads, pita crisps and dips that include labneh, hummus and a spicy muhamara. And yes, you will also be able to order the Barbary hashcake for dessert as well as Malabi milk pudding topped with raspberry coulis.
Thre's more to look forward to as well. When things get back to "normal", they're hoping to make their neighbouring cafe Jacob the Angel an evening wine bar - a real-life version of The Barbary Next Door. More on that soon.
