What: Flat Iron Marylebone
In a nutshell: Steak empire expands
Summing it all up: One of London's huge success stories for their much-loved affordable steaks, Flat Iron, are opening a new restaurant that's only a few steps from Oxford Street. And they'll be adding wagyu burgers to the menu.
The low-down
Flat Iron steaks haven't let a pandemic slow them down as they gear up for their latest opening, just a few steps from Oxford Street.
If you're somehow not familiar with them - their USP is all about affordable steak. The main event is the flat iron steak itself, taken from the featherblade, and a steak and salad will only set you back £12. But aside from the steak (and you'll be needing beef-dripping chips on the side of that) there are new specials just for this new Marylebone opening.
First up is the wagyu beef burger. That's two patties of grass-fed wagyu, topped with melted cheese, pickles, onions and homemade truffle mayo and a tender ribeye. That wagyu itself is hand-selected for its marbling and primarily from Angus cattle reared on small farms in Ayreshire. Also new to the menu is crispy bone marrow garlic mash - the mere thought of which is making us hungry right now.
Roast aubergine with tomato and basil and creamed spinach are also available as sides - and they'll have roast cauliflower too.
A very handy part of the new restaurant will be the large and heated terrace outside - we're pretty confident that it will be popular over the next few months.
