The Connaught unveils a brand new Patisserie (with a River Cafe dessert)

The Connaught unveils a brand new Patisserie (with a River Cafe dessert)

While you may not be able to have a martini at the Connaught Bar after 10pm, the hotel has just unveiled something new for the daytime - a brand new patisserie. It's on the side of the building on Mount Street with its own entrance, meaning you can pop in and pick up Connaught cakes and patisseries all day long.

It's both eat-in and takeaway and they'll be featuring 10 seasonal patisseries, including at the moment: Paris-Brest, Apple Tatin, St Honoré, Yuzu Éclair, Mango and Passion Fruit Mousse Cake and their Chocolate Tonka Tart. They also have a daily changing cake and a special creation which features The Connaught hound reimagined as a chocolate hazelnut cake (pictured above).

Other treats include loaf cakes and the River Cafe's infamous Chocolate Nemesis, delivered daily to Mount Street, the first time it's been available outside the River Cafe itself (unless you've foolishly tried to follow the legendarily difficult recipe at home).

That's all backed up by tea, coffee and, of course, Champagne.
