Selfridges' Brass Rail goes vegan with a salt beet sandwich

selfridges salt beet sandwich

For over 40 years, the Brass Rail at Selfridges has been serving up one of London's great meaty sandwiches. Their salt beef reuben is legendary.

But changes are afoot. To tie in with the department store's new Project Earth sustainability push, they're temporarily rebranding this temple of meat as The Grass Rail - serving up a brand new vegan menu.

Available alongside the traditional menu, vegans will now be able to order a Salt 'Beet' Sandwich - filled with hand-carved slices of salt-baked beetroot and topped with layers of sauerkraut and gherkins in freshly cut marbled rye bread.

Also available will be vegan knishes, a beetroot burger and a range of salads.
