The low-down
In these uncertain times, it's always good to hear about a new opening that seems set to be a certified hit. When the folk from Made of Dough say they're opening a pizzeria on Brick Lane where every pizza costs a fiver, you can predict it's going to be a total banger.
Opening just opposite the Bagel Shop, Roma will serve up thin Roman-style pizza. There's just eight to choose from, and each 12" pizza will be £5. Plus, there's the added - and free bonus - of a complimentary lemon granita for every customer.
On the starting menu you'll find pizzas including Mushroom & Truffle, Aubergine and tahini, Hot Pepperoni and also Spicy Lamb Sausage. The dough will be organic, as will the tomatoes, there will be two types of mozzarella (from Italy and also Somerset), and the pepperoni is from Bedfordshire. There's also a dedicated vegan menu.
Sides are all £2.50 and include garlic bread with aioli, rocket and Parmesan salad and fennel and radiccio slaw.
The super value extends to drinks as well. A glass of house wine will be £3, house draft beer £2.25 and ALL cocktails will cost the same as a pizza - £5.
It also looks as though they're planning on doing deliveries too - judging by their first pic on Instagram.
