What: Kiss the Hippo
In a nutshell: A second outpost for the coffee roasters and cafe.
Summing it all up: Opening their second cafe (after Richmond) Kiss the Hippo will offer sustainably sourced coffee as well as breakfast, lunch, and pastries.
The low-down
After launching down in Richmond in 2018, independent coffee roasters Kiss the Hippo is opening its second location, in Fitzrovia, this September.
As you’d expect, coffee will be at the heart of the new cafe and Kiss the Hippo will be serving its own sustainably sourced beans, which are roasted at its site in Richmond using a high tech environmentally friendly roaster. Beans are sourced from high-quality independent producers with fair, sustainable practices and there’ll be no plastic waste in any of the cups or materials in the shop.
Alongside your eco-friendly cup of coffee, there’s also going to be a food menu of sustainable, simple dishes such as:
- Scrambled eggs on sourdough toast
- Vegan banana cake
- Cinnamon roll with white chocolate icing
The two-floor space on Margaret Street in Fitzrovia will have a minimalist Scandi cool vibe about it with beech wood furniture and lots of natural light through the big front windows.
