What: The O2
In a nutshell: North Greenwich's iconic mega-complex is getting a handful of new restaurants
Summing it all up: Whether you’re after hip plant-based burgers, tandoori-grilled streetfood, or crispy wings and cocktails, you’ll be well catered for at the O2 which is set to get a whole heap of spacious new spots this spring.
The low-down
Next time you venture to the O2 for a spot of music, retail therapy or Cineplex action, you’ll be able to take advantage of a massive new selection of places to eat set to open this spring. While they've had Craft London (on the outside) the rest of the eating options definitely needed improving. Among the new openings is a new branch of achingly trendy vegan NYC chain by CHLOE. which is continuing its spread across London with its third spot after Tower Bridge and Covent Garden.
They’ll be joined by a branch of the rapidly expanding Chinese hot pot restaurant chain Hai Di Lao who have over 300 restaurants worldwide, and fish and chip sellers Hook, which is making the move from central Camden to open what will be its second-ever branch.
There’ll also be Mexican from Benito’s Hat and classic burgers and a selection of craft beers from Beer + Burger. If you’re more in the mood for chicken then head to Thunderbird, also found at Dinerama, who specialise in crispy wings and cocktails, or choose from the Tandoori-grilled menu at Indian street food slingers Scarlet.
The new restaurants will definitely be taking advantage of the O2’s spacious interior with generously sized new layouts - Hai Di Lao will be spreading out across 8,000sq ft while by CHLOE will be boasting a similarly massive space plus its own “external garden oasis”.
All of the new openings bring the O2’s total restaurant collection to a substantial 34, so the next time you go, you’ll have more than enough to choose from.
