Good news for the pasta loving workers and residents of Canary Wharf - Stevie Parle's Pastaio is coming your way. The perenially popular pasta spot, which opened in Soho this time last year and has been packing them in ever since, has signed up for a long-term residency at Giant Robot.
They'll be taking over the spot previously held by Pocho in the street food trading space at Crossrail Place.
As you'd expect the menu will feature all the big hits of the original - their cacio e pepe bucatini for example - but will also have a few new dishes exclusive to this site like the divine-sounding Deep Fried N’duja and Mozarella dish, where they mix mozzarella with that spicy Italian sausage, and then deep fry it for extra crunch. Be still our artery-clogged hearts.
As for drinks, yes they're bringing their alcoholic slushies too, including a seasonally-appropriate Mulled Wine & Brandy Slushie.
If this all sounds lovely, but you can't think when you'll be able to get away from your desk to try it, they're also launching here (and at the Soho original) a new Click and Collect service so you can pre-order, pre-pay, and dive down and collect your pasta at a time of your choosing - just look on the Pastaio website.
"Nobody delivers the holy trinity of food, booze and music with the scale and quality of a street feast site," said Parle of his decision to head east. "It will be great to see how Canary Wharf responds to some proper pasta."
