Barino at Westfield London features a former chef from the World's Best Restaurant

What: Barino

In a nutshell: Mini Italian brasserie in Westfield London

Summing it all up: Whether you're grabbing avocado and eggs in the morning, or a panini during the day or a Negroni in the evening, this new Italian kiosk at Westfield London aims to be the go-to place for shoppers.

The low-down

Westfield London might not be the first place you'd think of to find a chef from what's currently the World's Best Restaurant, but that is in fact the case with Barino. The Italian brasserie/wine bar which opens in the West London shopping centre this week, has Alessandra Bonati as its Head Chef, who spent three years in the bread and pastry division at Osteria Francescana with Massimo Bottura.

With room for just 26 diners, either at stools along the wine bar along with 7-8 tables they're aiming to serve great Italian food, wine, beer and coffee in a laid back space.

As you might expect there'll be strong Italian coffee and great pastries to start, and then a range of Italian small plates and mains. If you're really grabbing and going there's mini panini at £2.90 or you could pick up a bruschette with straciatella and anchovies for a fiver.

They'll have a short wine list of exclusively Italian wines - and yes, there will be Prosecco. Plus, if you fancy an Aperol Spritz to recover from shopping, this will be the place to come.
