25/11 - updated with opening date and more details.
Following their City restaurant, M Restaurants are the latest to join the rush to Victoria, with plans to open in the Zig Zag building (which Iberica is doing too).
It's essentially a restaurant of two halves M-Grill and M-Raw which - as you can imagine - concentrate on high-end grill and raw dishes (emphasised by them celebrating the opening by having a Kobe beef barbecue on the roof). Expect a similar style restaurant to the first - so the Grill part will focus on the best cuts of meat (that Kobe will be in evidence) and there's an aging room at the centre of the restaurant where you can choose the cuts for your meal.
Now confirmed on the menu are:
- Smoked Wagyu Tartare served in a smoking cloche
- Venison Salami that is hand made onsite
- Braised lamb shoulder served with parsnip two-ways, burnt onions, confit garlic and silver beets.
The Raw part will have tartares, sushi and sashimi, bao and tiraditos - as well as bento boxes.
They'll also have a wine shop at this new M, with an aim to offer wines that "cannot be found in the average off licence" and they'll have a tasting table there too. Plus is will have its own tapas menu so you can pop in to try one of their 100 bottles of wine by the glass (from enomatic machines). And on top of that, they have a private members bar, M Den, complete with miniature cinema!
M Restaurants will open December 5 2015 at 70 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6AQ. Find out more about them on Twitter @mrestaurants_
