Things have been busy around Broadgate of late. Recently, there has been the launch of a new Vagabond wine bar and the arrival of US import Velvet Taco and now there's a new American-Irish "pub and clubhouse" arriving. And, let's face it, Irish pubs are certainly doing rather well in London at the moment. 

Originally planned as The Horsemen, it's now going to be The Horsemen and Fitzgerald's, both with a bit of a horsey theme.

After the restaurant got a very big push on his Netflix series, we decided it was time to take a proper look at High, Gordon Ramsay's high-rise Michelin-starred restaurant at 22 Bishopsgate. 

If there's one area of hospitality that seems to be doing well right now, it's competitive socialising. The City is about to get a new steakhouse, albeit with a name that's probably going to cause more than a little confusion when you try to tell friends about it. Opening in Leadenhall Market is MRBL, a restaurant that has dispensed with vowels. 

Billed as a modern British steakhouse, it's set across two floors (and an outdoor terrace) with Executive Chef Matt Colk in charge (previously Aviary and The Gun) and comes from a team that previously launched Boom Bab Burger (also in Leadenhall Market).

It still happens occasionally that a brand new restaurant opens up without us having heard so much of a whisper about it beforehand. That's the case with Wild Izakaya, a very interesting-sounding Japanese restaurant from the team behind Goodman, Pinna and Beast.

It's taken over a space in the City of London on Old Jewry Street, right opposite its sibling restaurant Goodman. They say their thing is "bringing Japan to London", and the man in charge of doing precisely that is Executive Chef Satoru Hashimoto, the former Head Chef at Koyn, who previously spent over a decade heading up

Last year, we wrote about how The Evolv Group (previously D&D) were going all-in on their Sartoria brand, expanding the restaurant that was originally launched by Francesco Mazzei into a mini group of restaurants. Well, that's continuing apace as they're already about to launch the fourth outpost.

Lunch options for folks in the City just got a boost in the run up to Christmas with the arrival of cheese toastie folk MELT at the Boxhall City food hall. Melt have been trading at Old Spitalfields for the past couple of years; you'll probably have seen their signature oozy cheese toasties on your FYP at some point.

On the menu at the new City location will be a range of toasties and dips for dunking. But they're also launching an option that's exclusive to Boxhall City - The Boxer. That's a toastie with smoked pulled pork, maple mustard, MELT cheddar mozzarella blend, Kansas BBQ

Pasta restaurant Bancone already has four restaurants across town (Soho, Covent Garden, Kensington and Borough), and they're getting ready to open a fifth. They're opening in a new development on Princes Street (down the road from Bank station and around the corner from The Ned).

Around this time last year, Noodle Inn opened in Soho and was an instant sensation. It immediately became the restaurant with some of the longest queues in Soho and has remained hugely popular to this day. Well, now they're about to open a second restaurant.

That smash burger trend hasn't come even close to finishing, with another launch, this time inside a City pub. Having started last week, newcomer Off The Street are serving up their burgers inside The Britannia on Monument Street.

They seem to be going for the minimalist, Supernova-like approach, so you won't find anything too fancy here. So there's the classic cheeseburger

A new Humble Grape wine bar is on the way to the City, and this one has managed to grab a pretty special location. It'll be opening in the 11th-century crypt of St Mary-le-Bow in Cheapside (taking over the space that used to be Café Below).
