All pubs, bars and restaurants in England have a 10pm closing time from Thursday

The government have announced that, from this Thursday (24 September), all pubs and restaurants in England will have a 10pm curfew. That means a restaurant or pub has to be shut by 10pm - not just calling last orders.

There had been talk brewing about a potential London curfew all day, but the confirmation only came right at the end of the day - almost 48 hours exactly before the curf…

London's pizza joints and cocktail bars win big on the world stage

The news is bleak. We know that. So, frankly, we're going to take the wins where we can find them and over the past week or so London has done rather well on that front. We may be an international laughing stock over our response to Covid, but at least when it comes to pizzas and cocktails we're world-beating.

Pizzas first. The 50 Top Pizza Europe 2020 list came out just before the weekend and Lo…

Otto's is getting ready to reopen but you can try their duck press next week

Although it's been more than two months since lockdown ended for restaurants, there are still quite a few that have yet to reopen their doors fully.

One such establishment is Otto's on Gray's Inn Road, which has forged one hell of a reputation for itself for all the Gueridon service it does at your table. The canard press, in particular, has become the stuff of legend. Since the summer, they've b…

Nebula Pizza on Hackney Road is as much about the drinks as the pizza

You may be wondering does Hackney really need another pizza place? Certainly, the team behind Nebula, which opened at the weekend, are very much hoping it does.

This new pizza, beer and cocktail joint has taken over the space on Hackney Road where ABQ used to be. It's a large site - with room for 200 pizza lovers. And the fact that it also has a large courtyard won't hurt it at all in the current…
