Tired of your monotonous packed lunches? Exhausted every sandwich option from the standard chains? Award-winning Thai restaurant, Nipa have launched a new lunch menu that’s not only exciting and unique but is a steal at under a tenner.
Situated in the Lancaster hotel on Lancaster Terrace, and one of only 15 restaurants to have received the prestigious “Thai Select” award direct from the Thai Government for their food, Nipa is now serving up London’s only traditional Khantok menu. Originating from the north of Thailand the Khantok is a tray with five separate compartments each holding different dishes – very similar to a Japanese Bento. Nipa tells us their all-female team of Thai chefs have created a menu that's 'ideal for a quick lunch break.’
The medley of dishes includes deep-fried mince prawns on crisp bread, classic Thai green curry with chicken, stir-fried Asian vegetables, jasmine rice and a selection of oriental fruits. There is an option available for vegetarians and omnivores too, which features spring rolls accompanied by a plum dipping sauce and a Thai red curry.
Lunches are available for takeaway however, if you have the luxury of a longer break we recommend escaping the bustle of the city and relaxing in the restaurant, which has stunning views across leafy Hyde Park. So kick your repetitive and mundane lunchtime habits and try something that’s a little more exotic, tasty and affordable. Khantoks are priced at £9.95 and are available Tuesday – Friday between 12-2pm.
Nipa is at the Lancaster Hotel, Lancaster Terrace London W2 2TY. For more information visit their website www.niparestaurant.co.uk
