It's been a week of notable awards with the Harden's 2010 restaurant awards and Olive Magazine's Alternative Restaurant Awards both being announced. Now you can get in on the action. The nomination period for the Readers' Choice award in the National Restaurant Awards is now open, so get voting!
Of course, the biggest story that the press got from the Harden's awards was about the drubbing that Gordon Ramsay received at their hands. However, the Guardian isn't counting him out quite yet, and suggests he just needs to get back into the kitchen, while the Mail told us that he's already there...
In other notable news:
- Thames Water are pushing their tap water carafes in an effort to make Londoners feel comfortable about asking for tap water in restaurants (frankly, Hot Dinners has never been bashful about this and always insists on tap water...).
- Green's opens in the city, but Dos Hermanos are not impressed.
- The Guardian has discovered that restaurants have found a way to influence internet restaurant reviews.
- Raymond Blanc expands his TV empire with a new cookery show Step by Step and a reality show, Plate Expectations, following two runners up from The Restaurant as they are guided by Blanc in their new careers as event caterers.
And finally, in our regular round up of "best ofs", this week we've had:

- Best street food from Time Out
- Trendy restaurants in Belgravia in the Evening Standard
- Top crustecea bars in London Lite
