Maple and Kings has superfood smoothies and guilt-free brunches in Pancras Square

Health-food-focused cafe Maple & Fitz landed in Fitzrovia last year at the height of the clean eating trend, bringing them a guilt-free menu full of salad bowls, cold press juices and gluten-free desserts. Now, they’re heading to King’s Cross to open their second cafe, complete with superfood cocktails for brunch.

Head chef Adria Wu, Cordon Bleu and nutrition trained, has created an equally feel-good menu for the new Pancras Place venue. It'll be bigging up super healthy, seasonal ingredients, and there’ll be lots to choose from, depending on how strict you feel like being with yourself.

There’ll be plenty on for weekend brunch, like the buckwheat crepes with salted date caramel, or gluten-free maple french toast with almond butter if you’re after something sweet. Otherwise, there’ll be sweetcorn and courgette fritters with lots of heady Mexican flavours like guacamole, fresh tomato salsa, coriander, black bean and yoghurt.

The aforementioned superfood cocktails will be the perfect antidote to a guilt-laden hangover, and include Maple & Kings' twist on a pina colada, made with matcha green tea and raw coconut, or the slightly adventurous-sounding cold pressed beetroot mojito.

If you’re there for lunch, expect healthy salads, tahini chicken and five-spice tofu, plus pre-requisite smoothies with various immunity boosting ingredients, like fresh turmeric root and raw pressed almond milk. There’ll also be an attached bake shop with food to go, stuffed with baked goods that should make you feel more saint than sinner, including the salted caramel brownies, vegan muffins and ‘everything’ cookies.

Maple and Kings opens in April 2017 in Pancras Square, Kings Cross, N1CX 4AG. Follow Maple & Co on Twitter @mymapleandco.
