After a nail biting night and an anxious wait this morning the result for the Great Britain & Ireland Michelin Guide 2015 are out. Here's what the London chefs who won new stars thought of the good news:
And our news story on the 2015 stars
Karam Sethi - Gymkhana
"The award caps off a perfect year for Gymkhana and is a testament to my team of chefs at both Gymkhana and Trishna, headed by Group head chef Rohit Ghai, Brinder Narula, Nand Kishor and Sajeev Nair. Together we’ve worked very hard to create restaurants that serve great, authentic Indian food, and we’re striving to keep getting better as we enter Gymkhana's second year.”
James Knappett - Kitchen Table
“Sandia and I are both absolutely thrilled at the news. It’s been a long journey, but we have fulfilled our dream of opening a successful restaurant together, and to be recognised with a Michelin star for doing something that you love is amazing. We’d like to thank all those that have supported us from the start, many of whom have become good friends over the last two years.”
Simon Rogan - Fera at Claridges
"Unexpected but thrilling news for Fera – amazing and a phenomenal for business and just proves that all the hard work over the last few months have really paid a dividend. The team is over the moon, and it gives us a launch pad to push our standards even further."
Isaac McHale - Clove Club"It's great to get recognition for the hard work of all our team. We will keep doing what we do, and strive to make it a little better every day."
Nieves Barragan Mohacho - Barrafina
"It has been a very long journey from the beginning, since we all started working together (the Hart brothers). It is incredible what we have achieved. Everyone has worked so hard, I am so proud."
Paul Walsh - City Social"I found out the news with Jason in Hong Kong – I am totally over the moon, it is so great to get recognition for all the hard work and long hours we have put in to making City Social a success. A huge thank you to all my team for this incredible achievement.”
