What: Good Neighbour
In a nutshell: Neighbourhood wine bar and restaurant in Camberwell
Summing it all up: Expect a strong charcuterie and cheese offering in this new Camberwell wine bar and dining room with plenty of plates for sharing and pizzette as well.
The low-down
If you've been wondering what's taking over from the late lamented Nape in Camberwell then let us enlighten you - it's going to be a wine bar and dining room called Good Neighbour.
The chef in charge is Paul Williamson, an Australian who started his London career with Soho House Group and was previously at WC charcuterie in Clapham. This is his first solo venture and he told Hot Dinners he's looking to provide locals with somewhere to share a good bottle of wine and some great food.
To that end, he's made some changes to the layout of the space, converting the cellar into a private dining room and further dining area so there'll be room for almost twice as many customers as before.
The core of the menu will focus on cheese, charcuterie and pizzettes like chorizo picante with burrata, roast red pepper and Parmesan (£7) or Wild mushroom, truffle, green olive, rocket and Ossau Iraty (£6.50). But there'll also be larger plates for sharing like chicken, pancetta & pistachio meatballs in smokey tomato sauce (£8.50) or maybe roast tahini cauliflower with pomegranate molasses, dukkah and parsley (£7.50).
And while wine is definitely a focus, with five picked out on a specials section there'll also be plenty of craft beers and cocktails to be had too.
