South London fans of everyone's favourite fried chicken spot Chick ‘n’ Sours will, for one month, have less far to go the next time they need a fix. While the original Haggerston branch is being refurbed, they'll be popping up in Coldharbour Lane where Calcutta Street used to be.
Upstairs will be the standard restaurant but downstairs they'll have a development kitchen working on new dishes for the Haggerston reopening. And whenever they strike gold with those dishes they'll be added to the board upstairs.
If you're quick you can book now (for groups of four or more) for two nights when they'll open the development kitchen to diners (17th and 31st May) to see how Carl and food soul mate Ash Mair collaborate and create their food.
As Carl explains; "We’ve got some original C&S classics on the menu – Disco Wings, Szechuan Aubergine, the K Pop, The Colonel (Made in Haggerston menu) - but the exciting bit will come in the form of these new creations (Made in Brixton menu).”
Brunch in particular sounds great with dishes like Chicken Waffle with fried eggs, green papaya and Thai Ranch dressing and Chinese bacon, eggs, and fermented chilli hollandaise on the menu.
