Carnaby Street Eat festival will be first time to try Darjeeling Express food

carnaby

If you like being the first to try any new restaurant, you should make a date for the Carnaby Street Eat food festival this summer. The one day event has all manner of great food offerings planned, but it'll also be the first opportunity for Londoners to try dishes by Asma Khan’s Darjeeling Express, whose first permanent restaurant will open shortly afterwards in Carnaby’s Kingly Court, as well as the soon-to-open Ugly Dumpling.

On the day itself there'll be picnic tables lining Carnaby Street for a bit of alfresco action and the list of participants is impressive - Jinjuu, Cahoots, Dishoom, Wright Brothers Soho, The Detox Kitchen, Dehesa, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Whyte & Brown, Le Bab, Shoryu Carnaby, Pizza Pilgrims, Tapas Brindisa and Cinnamon Soho.

They'll all be serving up £5 taster dishes and small bites so it's a great way to try the area's restaurants before going for a full meal.

What: Eat Food Festival

Where: Carnaby Street, London W1F 7DA

When: Saturday 3 June 12pm - 6pm
