Caribbean-inspired Soul Food Sisters is Clapham’s King & Co's new pop-up

What: Soul Food Sisters

In a nutshell: Caribbean meets European in Clapham’s King & Co’s newest residency

Summing it all up: Jerk roast chicken, scotch bonnet menemen and rum jerk halloumi gives you an idea of the kind of Caribbean-meets-Europe fusion pub grub that sisters Elly and Becca Perry will be dishing up - along with plenty of bottomless, boozy brunches.

The low-down

Clapham boozer King & Co is all set to welcome its next residency, this time from European and Caribbean-inspired Soul Food Sisters.

Think slow-cooked, spicy dishes, like the duo’s 10 hour slow cooked curry goat with scotch bonnet, served with rice and peas, and ginger and poppy seed slaw. Or you can try their SFS Fried Chicken Wings with Perry Perry sauce and pickled watermelon on the side.

Cheese fans can sample the intriguing Rum Jerk halloumi, which should go down a treat at their Saturday brunch offerings along with their Scotch Bonnet Menemen and Sweetcorn Fritters with Poached Eggs. And yes, there’s a bottomless brunch option. For £30, you can start your weekend as you mean to continue, and that’ll include cask ale, cava and Bloody Marys. In fact, their bottomless brunch was so popular with the Standard that it listed them in their top 10 boozy brunches in London. Or if you find yourself there on a Sunday, then you'll be able to sample Soul Food Sisters' take on a traditional English roast imbued with Caribbean twist, resulting in the rather amazing sounding Jerk Roast Chicken.
