The Scotch Egg Challenge 2015 comes to Islington

For the past few years, the Scotch Egg Challenge at the Ship has been a huge deal (and last year Hot Dinners was on judges' table too when The Cornwall Project won). But as the Ship's landlord moved to take over The Canonbury Tavern, the challenge has also moved to its new Islington home.

Squid Kitchen comes to the King & Co for a month long residency

The Truscott Cellar modern wine bar to open in Belsize Park

The folk behind the award-winning gastopub The Truscott Arms are branching out, opening a wine bar in Belsize Park. The Truscott Cellar, which opens in June, will be a modern wine bar with food by their chef at The Truscott Arms Aidan McGee. The 60 seat bar is being designed by Michel Schranz Design and Architecture and will be on two floors.

Homeslice to open second restaurant in Fitzrovia

They're already big in Covent Garden and now Homeslice are on the way to Fitzrovia with their second restaurant. 

This time they're going a bit bigger as the new place will seat 120 and they'll have a dedicated takeaway space - which will be handy if you're working in the area. Otherwise expect a cocktail bar, counter seating and a big wood fired oven in the middle of the restaurant.

The Good Egg all day restaurant is opening on Stoke Newington Church Street

There's been a lot of chatter about it, but now we can bring you the full details about The Good Egg which is opening in Stoke Newington this summer.

Cambridge Street Cafe takes over from 64 Degrees at the Artist Residence London

Having opened as 64 degrees last year, the restaurant space at the Artist Residence hotel has undergone a total change of look, menu and chef. The Cambridge Street Café inside the 10 bedroom hotel has brought in chef Radek Nitkowski, previously of Dean Street Townhouse to run the kitchen and there'll also be a flower stall inside run by Okishima & Simmonds.
