With the start of Ramadan (Thursday 23 April until Saturday 23 May), we'd normally be bringing you our annual piece on where to get an Iftar meal in London to break your Ramadan fast. But the London landscape is very different this year. So instead, we'll let you know whenever we hear of companies offering specific Iftar dishes on delivery.
Where: East Ham - available on delivery from Just Eat as well as for collection.
What's on offer: This relatively recent opening (from the folk behind Fat Boys Diner) is popular for its Chick ‘n’ Tikka Thigh burgers and falafel and hummus wraps. They also do a nice line in desserts - their signature milk cake is made with saffron & cardamom milk and topped with crème chantilly, pistachios, and edible rose petals.
When: Available 6pm till midnight.
Where: Covent Garden - the Iftar menu is available both for pick-up and delivery across London.
What's on offer: Freshly baked Lebanese flatbreads, salads soups and mezze along with traditional desserts such as Riz Bi Haleep and Sfouf. It's £20 per head, with dates included with every order.
When: Available daily until 10pm.
Where: The Northfields branch is open 7 days a week for a call-and-collect service and Hammersmith is open from Thurs-Sat.
What's on offer: You can enjoy their vegan street food, chaat bhandar as well as their excellent kebabs and they've got a new Itftar thali on the menu.
Normally this is an open-to-all affair in Bloomsbury but the lockdown landscape means that this year My Open Iftar is aiming to deliver Iftar meals to the vulnerable in our community, the elderly and to NHS workers. You can donate to that here.
In addition, Darjeeling Express's chef-patron Asma Khan is providing some great recipes in the Open Iftar pack "I know how important food and family is," she said. "This pack is very festive - it lets you feel part of the community without having to leave your home."
