London Cocktail Week 2024 guide

London Cocktail Week, the capital’s annual celebration of cocktails and bar culture is back on. Running from 3-13 October it features a jam-packed 10 days of international bar takeovers, hosted tasting events, cocktail dinners and special cocktails for holders of a LCW wristband. We’ve worked our way through this year’s extensive roster to bring you our edit of the best drinks events and unmissable experiences over the course of the 'week'.

 

European all stars at Umbrella Workshop

Shoreditch - Unit 10, Cleeve Workshops, Boundary Street, London E2 7JD

Umbrella Workshop is running a Eurocentric series of guest cocktails from some of Europe's best bars. Drinks include the Yacht Club from Barcelona’s FOCO, Peanut Butter and Jelly Old Fashioned from Berlin’s Wax On, Bramble from London’s Three Sheets, Baywatch from Paris’s Candelaria and Maybe Tommy from Amsterdam’s Super Lyan.

Strand - Strand, London WC2R 0EZ

Both of the bars at The Savoy are getting in on the LCW action. At the American Bar, they'll be serving up a vintage edition of the Hanky Panky cocktail made with Bombay Sapphire gin from the 1970s. And at the Beaufort Bar, when you order a French 75 you get to spin the ‘Champagne Wheel’ to decide which premium Champagne will be used in the drink.

Belgravia - The Peninsula London, 1 Grosvenor Place, London SW1X 7HJ

For a bespoke cocktail experience, you'll need to be quick to get hold of tickets to the daily Connoisseur’s Collection at Little Blue bar at The Peninsula London. Just ten tickets (£60) are available every day and guests will get an immersive guide to British gin from Head Mixologist Aude Fraisse. That involves a welcome drink followed by an introduction and tastings of three bespoke gins with three specially crafted cocktails, served alongside a dim-sum platter from the hotel's restaurant Canton Blue.

Broadgate - 5 Finsbury Ave, London EC2M 2PG

The Cocktail Lovers are hosting an evening celebrating and tasting five iconic cocktails created in London over the past 150 years. Held at Gaucho in Broadgate drinks include the classic White Lady devised by Harry Craddock at the American Bar at The Savoy, to Dick Bradsell's infamous, much-copied Vodka Espresso aka the Espresso Martini. Tickets are £49.46.

Mayfair - 3-9 Heddon St, London W1B 4BE

Martini lovers should head over to Gordon Ramsay's Heddon Street Kitchen over LCW where they've teamed up with Black Cow for a three-course menu, with each course paired with a martini. They're also promising a small leaving gift for you to make your own martini at home (while stocks last).

Kioku Bar at The OWO is collaborating with NYC bar Shinji which has The Big Apple's largest selection of Japanese Whisky and will be bringing their cocktails to the Whitehall bar on 6 October. 

Dram in Soho is hosting the London Cocktail Week closing party on 12 October, teaming up with New York's Angel's Share with a special cocktail, using Aberfeldy Highland Single Malt. 

The Corinthia London's Velvet cocktail bar is serving up a series of cocktails using old spirits from Salvatore’s personal collection. They'll be making three minature cocktails including a Churchill Manhattan, Daiquiri and Milano- Torino, which can be enjoyed separately or as a trio. It's £45 for one drink or £125 for the trio.
