If there's anything that London simply can't get enough of at the moment, it's bakeries. And one of those bakeries that Londoners are obsessed with is about to open a second place - a second Chatsworth Bakehouse is on the way.
However, if you're hoping they'll make it to your side of the capital, we're sorry to tell you that they haven't gone far. The current bakery is at 120A Anerley Road near Crystal Palace and the new shop is at... 116 Anerley Road. So the new shop is seen as something of an added extra and will certainly help with the extreme queues that they've been experiencing up until now. The original shop will apparently continue to handle the click & collect pre-orders, while the new one will be more of a walk-in place.
If you're unfamiliar with Chatsworth, which was originally born during lockdown, they're probably best known for their focaccia sandwiches. The sandwiches change daily and pre-orders sell out almost immediately. People will absolutely drop everything as well as cross town for them.
There are lots of bakes planned for the new shop including Guinness cake, raspberry & nectarine bread pudding, brown butter honey pie, basque cheesecake, cereal cookie and more. Frankly, all that's worth crossing town for too.
The team have already had a test launch this past weekend and are apparently opening any day now - so make sure to keep an eye on their Instagram page for any announcements.
