You Call the Shots is a residency-fuelled bar in Hackney from the team behind The PloughThe team's pub The Plough, where the You Call the Shots previews will be

A new bar is coming to Hackney, taking the space that was once Silver Lining (and very briefly House of Hades). You Call the Shots comes from the same team as The Prince Arthur in London Fields and The Plough in Homerton (Emma Piggott and Jonathan Mercer) but this will be a little different to those pubs.

The plan is for the bar to be a host for residencies from both established and up-and-coming chefs, where they can create their " their version of drinking food".  On the drinks front, they're promising high-end cocktails, brilliant beers and an epic wine list. The food is yet to be announced, but they're running a preview of what to expect throughout the summer at The Plough, and it's an impressive lineup.

The You Call the Shots Summer Series at The Plough includes:

  • 8 June - Mystic Burek’s Spasia Dinkovski's new concept including dishes reminiscent of Kafanas (traditional Balkan restaurants)
  • 21 June - Paris Rosina takes over with a Pierogi Weekender, including her goat and plantain plus her prawn and cockle pierogi

You can also expect Pasta Slut (18 July), Marie Mitchell (25-27 July) and Ginn Khao (1-3 August). And some of these will be coming to the bar in Hackney.

About the Hackney opening, the team says, "To celebrate our five years of our sites, we wanted to bring back some of our favourite past collabs and give our pals a chance to shine. That's the essence of You Call the Shots - it's all up to you."
