The Med-inspired Circe's Rooftop Bar takes over from Bar Elba in Waterloo

The Med-inspired Circe's Rooftop Bar takes over from Bar Elba in Waterloo

Earlier this year, Waterloo rooftop venue Bar Elba closed, but that's not the end for one of the few rooftop spaces in this area. It's being reborn as Circe's.

Taking over the rooftop of Mercury House, it comes from bar veteran Tobias Jackson. He's worked on bars like The Escapologist and Blame Gloria as part of Adventure Bar Group. As with Bar Elba, Circe's is going for a Mediterranean feel, with a food menu led by Med-inspired dishes. That'll include:

  • Bashed Cucumbers with apricot harissa, toasted sesame, coriander and a coconut yoghurt dressing
  • Serrano Croquettes with chopped olives, grated Manchego and Romesco sauce
  • Cajun Spiced Fritto Misto, Calamari, prawns, fish goujons and saffron aioli

It'll be a pretty big space as it's taking over three areas of the building, fitting in over 500 people. They're already putting together events for the summer, including live music performances, guest DJ sets and more as well as bottomless weekend brunches.
