The Pachamama Group are behind Effie restaurant opening at The Whiteley in Bayswater

effie opens the whiteley bayswater

It's always nice to see a landmark London building saved from falling into disrepair. Whiteley's on Bayswater had been closed for years but is now gearing up to reopen as a glamorous apartment block, complete with the UK's first Six Senses hotel and spa, an Everyman cinema and a new branch of Guillam Coffee House.

Now the first restaurant in the development has been announced. Effie is by the Pachamama Group which brought us the two Pachamamas along with Chicama and Zephyr. It's going to be a large restaurant, taking over two floors of the corner of the building on Queensway and Porchester Gardens, and with a private dining space too.

As for the food, the menu will be inspired by the Aegean coast with an emphasis on feasting dishes, modern mezze and chargrilled meats and fish.

It's very early days yet, but we'll bring you more news on this as we get it.
