Updated 10/10/23 with the opening date
It's been a while since coffee roasters and brunch purveyors Caravan opened a new place, but now they're about to hit up Covent Garden. They're one of the restaurants opening in the new workspace Grainstore on Drury Lane.
It's a pretty big affair, taking over part of a building that was formerly a grain and seed store (which is not dissimilar to their King's Cross setup). The building itself features a coworking space and room for four restaurants (with more announcements to come) and Caravan will take over the ground floor and basement. They'll have dining on both floors and a downstairs bar, plus a wraparound terrace for alfresco dining. On top of that, there will be a big private dining space called the Green Room.
As for the food, they'll be serving up top-tier, freshly-roasted coffee alongside some banging brunches with confirmed dishes including their jalapeno cornbread, steamed cod dumplings and crisp chilli salt tofu. New dishes include grilled halloumi and braised greens, pan-fried sea bream fillet and split pea dhal.
