Ex-Palomar chef Shiri Kraus and Amir Batito have already built a following for their popular Camden steakhouse, The Black Cow. Now the duo are about to open a new diner in Camden's North Yard. Epicurus will be an American diner with Middle Eastern influences. What does that mean exactly? Well, think sloppy bureks rather than sloppy joes and the beef short rib rack is glazed with pomegranate molasses and date honey.
They've taken over a site inside the listed North Yard building where they'll be serving up sharing dishes like Canadian poutine and a mixed grill sharing platter that includes beef rib cap, confit pork belly, jalapeno & cheddar sausage and lamb leg steak.
Desserts sound like they'll be reason enough to make the trip here. The signature sweet will be Yael - their take on s'mores with pistachio crunch, rose ice cream and burnt meringue.
Plus, if you like boozy shakes then you'll want to try their offerings which include;
- Baklava, Honey and Whisky
- Tangerine, Pistachio and Gin
- Banana, Melon, Date and Rum
- Salep and Vodka.
It all sounds compelling enough - fancy sharing a Sloppy Burek with us?
