He's already had a lot of success with expanding his Ivy restaurant group across the country. Now Richard Caring is getting ready to do the same with Mayfair classic seafood restaurant, Scott's. And the first place he's expanding to is south of the river, in Richmond.
Announced earlier this year, Caprice Holdings has revealed a little more about what's planned for the new opening.
Taking over the old Revolution Bar site on the riverbank, Scott's Richmond will run over two floors. On the ground floor, there'll be a crustacean bar serving oysters, wine, Champagne and cocktails. Upstairs things will be a little different to the original Scott's with a bar which will feature DJs every weekend. There'll also be a large terrace for alfresco dining.
Food-wise, it's mostly the same with all the usual fish and shellfish you'd expect. But there are some new dishes planned including:
- Baked Spiced Crab with garlic and herb toast
- Scott’s Apple Smoked Salmon with pickled cucumber and baked brioche bread
- Shrimp Burger with kimchi ketchup and potato crisps.
As executive chef, Tim Hughes explains: "The opportunity to have a great seafood restaurant on the river is very special...It is the first time we have ventured out of the heartland of Mayfair, and I cannot wait to celebrate the opening with locals, visitors and regulars alike."
