What: Neighbourhood Portobello
In a nutshell: South American inspired cocktail bar & kitchen lands in Notting Hill.
Summing it all up: This new West London bar is a colourful conversion from a pub on Ladbroke Grove to an all singing and dancing fast service cocktail bar with bookable apartments upstairs if you wish to continue the party ‘til dawn.
The low-down
After a change of ownership, a dream team of operators from Soho House, The Rum Kitchen & Inception Group have taken over the ground floor bar of this Notting Hill pub to create Neighbourhood Portobello. They plan to bring a fast-paced taste of South America to West London with a dramatic drinks list, (Balsazar rose spritz anyone?) a bright yellow island bar and big sounds from weekend jazz house DJs.
The kitchen is in safe hands with Bodega Negra alumni Chef Sebastian Becerra serving his take on delicious and delicate small plates. Expect slow roast pork belly or ancho prawn tacos, tuna & guacamole tostadas, gluten-free, sticky sesame and coriander Korean style wings with volcanic hot sauce and authentic chocolate stuffed churros.
Their light, bright refurb and outdoor terrace is set to be packed with party people nursing strawberry and jalapeño margaritas throughout the summer.
