Mamasons are best known for their Filipino “dirty" ice cream stores (that's the nickname used to describe ice cream made in a steel drum with ice and salt). But now they're changing gear for their new place, a bakery in Kentish Town, Panadera, which has opened two doors down from their current spot.
Selling an array of Filipino baked goods, you can expect pandesal (Filipino bread rolls) and the Panadera loaf to be the main events alongside Filipino croissants (with custard-filled versions to come), ensaymada (Filipino sweet pastry) and pandesal sandos (egg or corn beef hash to start with). On top of that, they also have ube (purple yam) tarts and a Clamansi meringue tart - as well as a mango float (that's the wonderful thing you see in the pic above).
Drinks-wise, alongside the traditional coffees, you can order matcha lattes, ube lattes and a whole range of iced teas and ices coffees - including a strawberry iced latte.
Obviously, it's only takeaway for the moment - but that's more than enough reason to head down there if you're in the local area.
