Elizabeth Haigh launches Bā - a new supper club at Mei Mei

With Mei Mei in Borough Market back up and running (alongside a new delivery venture), Elizabeth Haigh is launching her next big thing. Harking back to her Kaizen House pop-up, she's launching Bā, a new twice-weekly dinner at Mei Mei.

She'll lead the supper club/chef's table experience, for 16 people across 16 counter seats (and a couple of extra tables). Bā is Chinese for the lucky number eight, which also refers to the eight course tasting menu that will be on offer.  We're told to expect "a set menu that delves further into Elizabeth’s repertoire of Singaporean influences and passion for wood-fired cooking."

Some dishes planned for the eight-course £45 menu are:

  • Heritage tomatoes, Hainanese chicken broth vinaigrette, Spring onion oil, raw onion and herbs
  • Aged Dexter beef rib, toasted rice, roasted pepper, jus served with nasi kerabu (blue rice)

You'll also be able to add extra dishes (maybe their amazing fried chicken?) and get a wine pairing from sommelier Honey Spencer (founder of @bastardaldn). There's also a £25 option with nightly specials.

So if you missed out on the popup at Kaizen House, this sounds like a must-visit.
