Brook House pub in Fulham is doing a weekend Bus Stop BBQ popup

While we wait for info on just how pubs and restaurants will reopen, some have been pretty inventive on making money during the lockdown.

Over in Fulham, we were alerted to the existence of Bus Stop BBQ by a reader. It's the brainchild of head chef Martyn Young and head pastry chef Olivia Hudson at Brook House pub on Eel Brook Common. Running Thursday to Sunday, it serves up a succinct menu of 'cue treats, allowing the pub to enter its "first phase of reopening".

There's also a takeaway drinks menu with homemade lemonade, iced tea and a homemade cola. All, according to our contact in the area, can be made 'hard' with the addition of gin or bourbon, and they also have frozen Margaritas.

Here's what they're serving:

  • The Pig - pulled pork, kimchi, pork crubeen with smoked mustard and bread and butter
  • The Cow - smoked beef short rib with BBQ mayo, chipotle coleslaw and pickled jalapeno
  • The Chicken - Nashville fried chicken with hot sauce mop, remoulade dressing and green chilli coleslaw

They're also doing weekly specials like Philly cheesesteak and iceberg wedge salad with smoked pork shoulder.
