Looks like Charlotte Street is getting ready to welcome a new all day Asian café. Bambusa is the latest opening from the team that brought us Roti Chai and Chai Ki.
Open from breakfast through to supper "offering an eclectic range of breakfast and all-day dishes with global influences, initially focused on flavours from across Asia." That's down to founder Rohit Chugh's past two years travelling and working in Japan, Singapore, Laos and across Asia which helped provide the inspiration for the menu.
One thing you can expect is some decent coffee - they'll be serving up their own bespoke Malabar house blend along with pastries and other sweet treats. Other breakfast treats will include kewpie omelette sliders and egg scramble buns. For lunch it's a 'build-your-own-tray concept - with sushi rice or mixed leaves as a base for:
- Ginger Shoyu Chicken (roasted chicken thighs with soy, mirin, orange zest, sesame, ginger and garlic)
- Chilli Bean Tofu (with silken tofu)
- Kimchi BBQ Jackfruit (baked jackfruit with live fermented vegan kimchi and red chilli gochujang)
- Nam Pla Chicken Salad (smoked chicken breast with fresh mint, coriander, lemongrass, chilli and ‘nam-pla’ fish sauce)
