The Oystermen are expanding - and they'll have an all day oyster and raw bar when they do

Updated 19/9/18 with reopening date

Covent Garden restaurant The Oystermen must be doing something right. They've just announced that they've done a bit of a land grab, extending into the next door property to double the size of their seafood bar and kitchen.

With all that new space they're going to have room for a brand-new all-day oyster and raw bar especially for walk-in visitors - super news for anyone, like us, who isn't that hot on getting themselves organised with reservations.

The restaurant will close at some point this Autumn and, when it reopens, will have space for 50 diners and a bigger open kitchen. Other things being supersized for the Autumn unveiling will be a new bar menu of cocktails, craft beers on draft and by bottle (including The Oystermen & Canopy Beer Co’s special collaboration ‘Everyday Oyster Stout’).

There will also be some new dishes too - such as Roast Scottish halibut with Jerusalem artichoke and chicken broth, and sharing meals like whole sea bream for two, baked in salt and lemon thyme crust and accompanied by braised kale, caramelised onions and anchovy. And we might have to nip down to try the new hot and cold seafood platters.
