The 2016 Good Food Guide rounds up the longest serving entries

 connaught

The Good Food Guide turns 65 this year and for this year's publication they've been looking back in time at some of the establishments that have spent a long time on that list. Top of the pile is The Connaught (pictured) which has been in the guide for 63 of those years. That beats Le Gavroche which has been in it for 46 years and RSJ on the South Bank (which we're ashamed to say we'd never heard of and has been in the guide for 35 years ahead of Le Caprice and Clarke's)

Picked out for special mention this year is one of Hot Dinners' favourite chefs (and all round decent bloke) Robin Gill (The Dairy, The Manor - and also Paradise Garage) who picks up Chef of the Year. The Dairy enters the list at No 45 for the first year. Readers' restaurant of the year for London goes to Boqueria in Brixton.

Top of the pile for 2016 is L'Enclume which retains its position for the third year running. "Us having three restaurants in the top 17 is a massive achievement from the team," said Simon Rogan. 16 London restaurants made the top 50 list in total.
